For spare parts!

Ok I like search for ITEMS to be repaired and - or for spare parts.  Often these are highly repairable without big issues at bargain price.

I finally had an occasion to buy one in apparently in good aesthetic shape with only the mention "for spare parts". The seller told be it just not turn on.
Ok, just ship it, and we will see.

Finally it arrived...

What's wrong with it?

Well, a bit dirty, the package was not one of the best, but the machine seems to be overall in good shape. The PSU was missing and a couple of DIN audio cable were included (not midi). Who knows why...

Anyway, after checking the right polarity, just plug in the 12V and... nothing!  but a quick blink of the power led.  There's hope, Obi wan.

Opening the machine is way too easy with just a couple of screws under the hood. I wish it would be so easy each time!

OK, this is all too easy! a simple cracked joint solder on the PSU connector. Sounds today's job will be short and will close earlier today. Just some fresh solder and we're ready to go.

Reassembling and testing

And working at first shot! Not really a big deal time time.!
