Dr.Pad (1987)

 

Compact digital drum pad percussion with 6 PCM samples onboard.

The Dr.Pad has been released in 3 versions each with different soundset:

- DRP-1
- DRP-2
- DRP-3

PERCUSSION PAD main panel features 5 knobs, a selector and a piezo pad for sound triggering.

Rear panel terminal connectors:
- main signal out
- signal input
- input for external triggering
- 1 trimmer for volume
- 1 trimmer for trigger sensibilty
- DC out to chain other units with same PSU.
Optional stand Bph-2 allows to hold 2 DR pad.

Power supply 9V PSU DC -)+ or 9V battery, 30 mA for each module.

 

 

VOICE the machine is monophonic with a single channel with assigned sample choosed by the rotary selector. The sound can be triggered either hitting the rubber pad, either by external trigger like other pad or drum machine.

The selected sample can be modified using these functions: - pitch pad sensibility - decay / duration - pitch sweep (a kind of LFO) - pitch tuning HEAR pitch tuning

 

WAVETABLE internal ROM contains 6 PCM waves probably at either 8 and 12 bits resolution. Other modules DPR2/DRP3 have different samples set - check out "related family"

Instrument list: snare (x2), claps, cymbal, timpani and tamboutirine

 

MODIFICATION not much except classic circuit bending.
