What's wrong with it?

well a gift from a dear friend, Nicola, he bought 3 from the same person. No idea why did he used to have 3 Ry30. Anyway, machine is quite in bad shape, stickt, not working pad, battery failure, scratchy pot and... that's it! but it is working indeed which is not bad.

Cleaning the RY30

UPPER:  Well , it URGES to give a good cleaning to mr Japan box. Scratching away also the sticky parts. yuk distgusting.

UPPER: Ry30 is easy to open, with just a dozen of screws on the bottom.

let's do this

UPPER as expected the pot sliders were really dirty. Clean, grease and good ohm value with no interruption.

UPPER cleaning the pad with rubber was easy also, go gently with no aggressive product do not remove too much carbon. It's interesting to note that there are 12 piezo under the pads. I suppose to measure a kind of hit velocity. I did not tried them, I will assume these are okkey. I remember maybe also Alesis HR16 uses this strange velocity?

Last step: battery. Typical cr2032 soldered to the main board. I will just install a battery holder.
Here's the reset procedure:

Turn on the power.
Press and simultaneously hold down the [DEC] button, the [PATTERN] button, and the [PERC 2] button.
Continue to hold the buttons down until the message 'RY30 Test Entry' appears in the display.
Release all three buttons. ...
Press the [STOP/CONT] button.

... and working!

All seems nice, sliders are smooth also
