OVERVIEW the optional board made a new life to the gem S series, but this requires soldering skills and cutting board (refer to manual included). This board is a must-have for this synth because it adds so munch functions:
- 32 voice polyphony instead of 16
- new sounds in ROM
- 100 ready to go performances
- better sound edit with new functions
- new version of sample translator 2 (see below)
- better and faster disk management
- improved sequencer
Sample import upgrade
The factory RAM is 512 Kb and ca be expanded up to 2Mb using obsolete SRAM UPD431000
The optional boards adds 3 import modes:
- floppy MS- DOS & Atari ST format supports .wav .aif - Avalon
- standard SDS Midi dump.
- floppy disk Akai S1000 format
