Overview

OVERVIEW Half rack Midi module, made out of metal, main panel features a basic segment 3-digit display, 7 buttons and a single volume knob.
There are 2 other models from the same line with different sounds: General Midi SG01k and piano SG01p

MIDI nice Midi Implementation, sounds can be saved to standard Sysex bulk dump.
TIP: It is possible to change more sound parameters using Midi Sysex or NRPN.

Sound and Wavetable

SOUND VOICE main core based on a 16 bits NEC D-70236 CPU manages 32 voices polyphony, reduced to 30 if reverb DSP is engaged;
DAC is a nec UPD63210GT and various LSI ASIC (L7A0986 + DSP L7A1045). Sounds cannot be really edited from panel, you need an external editor, we support CTRLR which is free and still working on modern machines, for archivial purposes we remember also "G01V Edit" (for old PC) and Midi Programmer (also for old windows).

WAVETABLE internal PCM ROM contains 128 PCM recorded at 16 bits resolution which contains sample from famous vintage machines:

Roland JX-3p, PPG, VP-330, Juno-60, Oberheim OB-XA, Solina, Mellotron, Matrix 12, but also drum machines e.g TR-808, Simmons SDS V and more Full preset list

PERFORMANCE sounds can be assigned to 16 parts but overall setting cannot be saved.
Each part features individual parameters:

- volume mix

- stereo panning

- FX amount

- coarse + fine tuning

- Special MONO mode handles portamento and glide functions.

Edit and effects

ENVELOPE a simple 3-segments EG ADR

FILTER digital resonant low pass filter.

LFO a single delayed modulator is accessible triggering Midi CC#1 modulation wheel .

EFFECTS internal DSP generates 30 reverbs organized into 5 main families: hall, plate, cathedral, metal and ambience.

Memory

MEMORY 256 preset patches + 2 preset drum kits. NO RAM patch, you cannot save your patches.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT an internal 3V CR-2032 just saves basic settings and the last edited sound, anything else must be saved by Midi dump protocol. After you can do a SG01V FACTORY RESET : "Switch ON holding DATA UP + DATA DOWN"
