Eowave Domino (2011)

Eowave Domino

Trend price : 200€

Portable analog synthesizer from the french Eowave, famous for some esoteric sound controllers like the Eobody.

Overview
(weight: less than 1Kg). The main panel features 15 knobs and no display.
Back panel terminal connectors:
- main out
- audio input for external filter processing
- Midi input

Voice
monophonic synthesizer based on a single oscillator. A very simple structure and pots positioning is nice and somehow didactic for people approaching to the analog world, but it definitely cannot really achieve some complex sound routings.

Oscillator
progressive waveform from saw to square with variable rectangular width and and a global tuning of 7 semitones

Sequencer
special mode LFO WHEEL function activates a very fun 8 steps sequencer

Filter
resonant analog filter lowpass mode at -24dB good sounding with a medium lack of bass bottom at high resonance. The VCF processes external signals at line impedance.

LFO
a single modulator and 2 destinations:
- VCF cutoff
- VCO pitch

Envelope
a single EG VCA features a 3-segments ADR. The oscillator is triggered with internal EG or incoming GATE signal by the lateral switch on the right

Arpeggiator
some preset patterns and limited parameters like octave heights range and latch mode. The speed rate is determined by the relative LFO frequency.

Midi
system responds to a few Midi CC# like glide and arpeggios functions
