Steim Cracklebox (1975)

Steim Cracklebox

Trend price : DIY

Experimental dutch noise box using contact points, original project is from 70' by Michel Waisvisz. The basic idea is to play circuits with body contact.

Overview
The project is mainly a DIY so the weight, number of contacts depend mainly of what you wann do. Usually the models are hand-held and smaller than this special actual model that *might* be called "Grand Old Crackle Synthesizer".

Voice
mainly based on a old school monolithic operational amplifier LM709 (today not so easy to find around) and relative connections are left open and accessible for the fingers

Noise
this special huge crackle box counts not less than 19 contact point plus pots and special buttons.
